Bringing things up to date

Hello everyone! :) Thank you for continuing to visit my website and for keeping up with "DorisDollars." Also, thank you so very much to those that have made donations through my website link! There have been a lot of hits to the site this week so I'd also like to say hello and welcome to new readers. I appreciate your visits!

My mom and I have reviewed the site this morning and we did a few updates. It was my birthday yesterday (I am now 13 years old) and we didn't want to have any old information in my profile and such.

One day last week, I gave my school principal a letter. I have asked for permission to hold my next fundraising activity at school. I don't know if I will be allowed to do it (or if there are any school or school board rules against it) but I am crossing my fingers very tight. I don't want to give out the details yet, in case I have to change my plans, but I think it's an idea that could be pretty successful. It would benefit students and staff, as well as their family and friends. It will be quite a lot of work to get it ready but that's not a problem. I have help! :) (It's a good thing my family loves me!! *grin*) My idea is connected to the holiday season so I hope that I will get an answer back soon and we can get started!

As soon as I know, I'll come back and post. In the meantime, please think positive!!

"DorisDollars" in the local news

Imagine my surprise when, this past Saturday, my mom called out, "Kelsey! You're in the paper!"

We didn't expect it but
Mr. Dan Rosenburg of our local newspaper, Le Soleil, wrote a really nice article about "DorisDollars." It's pretty exciting to have articles in two newspapers in nearly the same week!

Below is a link to the article from
Le Soleil. Thank you very much, Mr. Rosenburg, for your support. These articles are really helping to get the word out about my project and they will also be valuable when I am looking for possible sponsorships.

My first report!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to let you know that I received my first monthly report today from Mme Caron at the CCS. It was really exciting to read it. I would like to thank my online donors!! My fundraising thermometer is updated to include your wonderful donations!

In other news, I was interviewed by my high school newspaper a couple of weeks ago! One of the reporters had dropped by my garage sale and she decided that she wanted to write about "DorisDollars" for the paper. I'm not sure when the issue is due to come out but it would be great if they choose to print the interview! I'll be sure to let you all know :)

I'm working on a couple of new ideas that I hope might be good for the holidays... but I still have to ask a lot of questions to a lot of people before I will know if I can follow my plan. I'll write more about that once I know for sure. For now, you could cross your fingers, though -- it just might help! :D

Love,
Kelsey
